Meet the Team
Shannon K. S. Fussell, PhD
Hello! I am Dr. Shannon Fussell, licensed psychologist. I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University in 2008 and have been in practice since that time, including over 14 years of federal service in the Veterans Health Administration.
I specialize in providing compassionate care for adults, including both individual therapy and collaborating with couples who wish to heal and strengthen their relationships. I believe each person is a unique individual, and that each of us responds to challenges differently. I celebrate diversity in all its forms and appreciate the potential of each person I serve.
My highest priority is developing a real relationship that becomes the basis for exploring issues and empowering you to seek positive change. I will support you in discovering and pursuing what truly matters in your life.

From this place of understanding, we may incorporate a variety of evidence-based approaches in our work to help you achieve meaningful and lasting results. I am experienced in the following:
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
-
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT)
I incorporate manualized trauma-focused treatments in my work with clients who prefer a more structured approach to developing new ways of relating to past trauma. I incorporate Clinical Hypnosis with clients who wish to tap into their inner resources more fully to alleviate current problems. My treatment planning approach is collaborative and supportive. I will offer the options I find best suited to your specific needs and desires, and together we will determine how to proceed.

Choosing the right professional to help navigate life’s challenges can be difficult. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you. I am confident that together, we can overcome the obstacles you are facing and help you attain your vision for a better life.
Michael Prazak, PhD
Thank you for visiting. I’m Dr. Mike Prazak, a licensed psychologist. I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Dakota in 2019. I have worked primarily in the VA, as well as various other clinics and psychiatric hospitals.

My areas of focus are navigating important relationships, healing from childhood trauma, and altering patterns of thinking and interacting that may lead to feeling dissatisfied or unhappy. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a method of treating trauma that involves eye movements and desensitizing you to triggering thoughts and memories. I am also certified in Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT), an approach to couples counseling that integrates emotions, thoughts, and behaviors; Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT); and suicide prevention.

I believe in creating a safe environment in which you can express difficult or troubling thoughts and feel at ease and comfortable. I will work with you to ensure you feel safe and supported while discussing difficult thoughts and experiences.

Choosing to begin therapy is a powerful step toward reclaiming your life. I offer a warm, encouraging environment to create safety and support for your personal growth. I believe in creating the conditions for you to develop insight, resilience, and understanding to foster happiness and meaning.
Life can often feel unmanageable or overwhelming, and it can be difficult to understand the causes of life’s challenges and find a new way forward. In our work together, I will be proud to stand by you and uplift you throughout your journey to new ways of thinking, feeling, and living.
My approach to therapy is based on insight and personal understanding. I will help you understand the impact of your past on the present, and help you reorient your life in the way that you need. Although the work of therapy can be difficult, I offer a supportive relationship to help you understand your past and navigate your future. I am happy to work with clients from a diversity of backgrounds, and offer a non-judgmental experience for all of my clients.
